When it comes to energy-saving controls solutions, the available choices are geared towards large commercial applications or small, “light commercial”/residential needs. This means that the majority of light commercial type buildings have little to no choices regarding viable energy-saving controls. Light commercial buildings either have to take a solutions designed for a home ( which is inexpensive but also ineffective) or they had to pay for full DDC control systems (effective but very expensive).
Honeywell has now introduced the WebStat in order for light commercial building-owners to finally have a controls’ solution that is both effective and affordable!

With the advent of Tridium, Honeywell WEBS AX, open protocals like BACNET and LON building owners have choices that were not available before.
In this excerpt from an interview with Honeywell’s Roger Rebennack, see how Honeywell has taken building automation controls to a whole new level. Honeywell has opened up their Access and Security products so Read More
When I think about variable frequency drives (VFDs) and bypasses I am reminded of the story of the family of women cooking a ham at Christmas. The young girl notices that her mother cuts each end of the ham off before Read More
The technology behind variable frequency drives (VFDs) has been around for over forty five years and involved in HVAC for over twenty five years. However, many people remain in the dark as to how much energy and money VFDs save. The truth is VFDs are one of the best ways to make a building greener and save energy. Half the electricity used in a building is a direct result of pumping air and water through the buildings HVAC systems. Read More

In part three of the Honeywell Industrial Controls Training Series, Matt covers PID control as it pertains to tuning an industrial control such as the Honeywell UDC 3200. Matt will demonstrate how to set up a Read More
In this class Matt continues his discussion of when and how to use the Honeywell UDC2500 and UDC3200. Matt also shows us why the new Honeywell DR4500 Truline circular chart recorder is far superior to conventional “pen dragger” recorders. See how to power temperature, flow, humidity, and differential flow transmitters from either the Honeywell DR4500 circular recorders or by using the auxiliary output option on the Honeywell UDC3200.
Matt also introduces us to the different types of communication protocals used in industrial transmitters including foundation field bus, Honeywell DE, and Hart. Learn when and how these protocols are used and why the Honeywell MCTOOL KIT communicator is the only communicator you will need to set up and communicate with all your transmitters from Honeywell to Rosemount. Take a peak inside a recent Stromquist & Company controls class. In this video Matt from Stromquist & Company will walk you through what you need to know about industrial grade single loop controllers. Find out why the Honeywell UDC3200 universal single loop controller is the best selling and best valued controller in the marketplace, and the UDC 2500 controller is the high limit controller that industry chooses when burner safety is critical. Matt teaches us about different types of input and output signals. Want to know the difference between a 4-20ma and a 2-10 and why people choose one over the other? How about upscale and downscale burnout? What thermocouple should you use? What is the thermocouple health feature that Honeywell offers? Should I use it? Check out this training video to get the answers to these and other questions. Read More
Most of us know Bacharach for combustion analyzers like the PCA3 and ECA 450 combustion analyzers or for the Monoxor 3 or snifit carbon monoxide detectors. Did you know that Bacharach introduced thirteen new products last year and will
be introducing five more this year? As you can see in this video at the CGNA product show Bacharach is a company on the move. In addition to their core products of combustion analyzers you can see they have introduced low cost Read More
