This is how to replace a HVAC Run Capacitor

October 31, 2011  |  Technical Tips

Thanks to our friend Dr Z for this great video on how to replace a run capacitor.

Although Stromquist & Company does not handle run capacitors our friends at companies like C C Dickson, Aireco Supply, Wittichen Supply, Baker Distributing and Johnstone Supply do. Controltrends can recommended these companies as trusted sources for HVAC equipment parts.

    (1) It has been a while since I have been in the field but isn’t white always the common, black the hot lead, and green a universal ground?
    (2) Since when are open sandles allowed in the field.

The Capacitor used is a dual capacitor for compressor and fan. I have seen in the field many different colors of wires used depending on condenser manufacture or from other techs wire changes.

When making a video you think more about showing then what your wearing.
I agree to have work boots on for safety.
